How to make Recipe of Unniyappam at home?

Equipment
- 1 Mixing Bowl
- 1 bottom vessel
- 1 Kadhai
- 1 Appam pan
Ingredients
- 500 grams roasted rice flour
- 1/2 cup Maida
- 1 cup jaggery (here we have taken powder jaggery)
- 1/2 cup Grated coconut
- 1/2 cup chopped coconut
- 2 tbsp Rawa
- some cadmium powder
- some Zera
- pinch of salt
- 2 No Small Banana
Instructions

- To the Rice flour, add rawa and refined flour.
- Melt the jaggery with 1 cup of water.
- Once the jaggery melts, strain it to remove any particles
- Pour hot jaggery water into the flour mix.
- Mix it using a whisker to form a smooth batter.
- The batter should be dosa consistent.
- Grind Banana and grated coconut together to form a paste.
- Mix the banana and coconut paste with the batter and mix it well.
- Mix it well
- Now add cumin seeds, cardamom powder and¼ tsp of Salt
- Roast the chopped coconut in 2-3 tbsp of ghee until golden brown.
- Pour the roasted coconut into the batter immediately
- Let it rest for at least 30 mins (It is recommended to keep it for 3-4 hours for best results)If you want instant appams, then add a pinch of baking soda and fry them immediately.
- Heat Oil in an Appam pan, pour the batter and fry them on low flame until done on each side.
- Turn them around occasionally, so they cook from all sides
- Once done, transfer them to a paper towel or tissues to soak in the extra oil
- Delicious Unniappams are ready.

- Make sure to use hot Jaggery water for making the batter
- Straining of the melted Jaggery is. important to remove any stones or foreign particles
- Rest the batter atleast for 30 mins if no hurry then you can rest it for 3-4 hours for best results. Incase you want instant appam then add a pinch of baking soda and mix it thoroughly and start making Appam instantly.
