Roti Tandoori Recipe

The one thing we will always order from a restaurant is some nice spicy gravy and some hot tandoori rotis, We always relish hot tandoori rotis with spicy gravies. Tandoori Rotis is the best-ever combination for the main course meal. Usually, we get, not so healthy option of Tandoori roti, which is traditionally made with Maida, But we can also make them with wheat flour, so why not try them at home and make it with healthier ingredients?
Do not worry if you don't have a Tandoor at home, as we don't need a Tandoor to make Tandoori Rotis at home; there is a trick to make it very similar to the restaurant style without Tandoor, and we will do that today in our recipe.

Equipment

  • Iron Tawa
  • Mixing Bowl

Ingredients
  

  • 2.5 Cups Wheat Flour
  • 1/4 Cup Curd
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • Chopped Coriander Leaves

Instructions

  • Add salt, baking soda, curd, butter and Oil in a mixing bowl, and mix the wheat flour in a mixing bowl.
  • With your hands, mix all the ingredients in the flour.
  • Now add water in portions and make a chapati dough.
  • Knead the dough for 5-10 mins
  • Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 mins, knead the dough once again.
    Divide them into equal balls; keep a paratha size dough ball.
  • Now roll a paratha/roti (keep it slightly thick)
  • Now spread some chopped coriander leaves over it and roll it once
  • Now heat an Iron Tawa on high flame, Now apply some water on one side on the roti to stick to the tawa
  • Place the same side on the hot Tawa and press it gently so it sticked to the Tawa
    please keep it on a medium flame
  • Once bubbles start forming as shown, turn around the Tawa and roast the roti directly on the flame as shown below
  • Now apply some butter on the top and serve it hot.

Notes

For making Tandoori roti, we need an Iron Tawa; we cannot do this on a nonstick pan.
If you want a restaurant-style texture and look, then you can use Maida/All purpose flour instead of wheat flour. But as a healthy option, Wheat flour is the best.
