How to make Recipe of Sweet Pongal at home?
Recipe of Sweet Pongal
Equipment
- 1 Pressure Cooker
- 1 bottom vessel
- 1 Frying Pan
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Raw Rice (Soaked in water for 30 mins)
- 1/2 Cup Moong dal (Soaked in water for 30 mins)
- 1/2 Cup Milk
- 200 grams Jaggery
- 2 tbsp Cashews Nuts
- 2 tbsp Raisins
- 1/2 tbsp Cardomom Powder
- 2 tbsp Grated Coconut
- 4-5 cups Water
- 5 tbsp Ghee
Instructions
- Ingredients of sweet pongal
- In a cooker, add 1 tbsp ghee, soaked rice and moong dal, and toss for a minute.
- Now add 4-5 cups of water and a pinch of salt.
- Close the lid and cook for 5-6 whistles.
- In a pan, add jaggery and1 cup water and melt it entirely on medium flame.
- Now you can see jaggery is fully melted.
- Check the cooker and transfer the cooked Rice & Dal to a bottom vessel
- Strain and add the jaggery water to the cooked rice and dal
- Mix it very well to remove all lumps.
- Now add 1/2 Cup Milk and mix it thoroughly
- Add Cardamom powder and mix it well
- Mix Cardamom powder well.
- Let it boil, and then turn off the flame
- Take another pan and add 3-4 tbsp of ghee and roast the cashews, raisins and grated coconut.
- Pour it on the sweet pongal.
- Mix it well
- Healthy and Delicious sweet Pongal is ready to serve!!!

- Grated coconut is optional, You may even use chopped coconut for garnishing
- Instead of normal. milk you may use coconut milk for added flavor
- Jaggery can be used as per taste
