How to make Lauki Ka Halwa Recipe at home?

- 1 grater
- 1 non-stick pan
Ingredients
- 500 grams Lauki Dudhi or Bottle Gourd
- 1/4 cup Chopped Almonds and Cashews
- 75 grams Khoya
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1 cup Milk
- 3-4 tbsp Ghee
- 1/4 tsp Cardomom Powder

- To prepare the Lauki Ka Halwa, begin by peeling off the outer skin of Bottegourd.
- After peeling, wash it well and then cut it into equal pieces.
- Only grate the outer green portion of the Botte gourd; the inside white portion with seeds is not required.
- Now you can see that all the Bottegourd is Grated propely
- Heat a Pan and add 2 tbsp of ghee
- Then add the grated bottlegourd and fry this for 1-2 mins, stir continuously.
- Now add milk and cook it on a low flame for 2-3 mins by covering with a lid.
- After 2-3 minutes, open the lid and check if the bottle gourd is soft and has released most of the milk.
- Let the dish simmer on low heat for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Now, add around 6-7 tablespoons of sugar and mix well. You can adjust the amount of sugar according to your taste.
- Cook it for another 2-3 minutes until the moisture evaporates. Check and add more sugar if needed, depending on taste.
- Meanwhile the Halwa is getting cooked, Roast the khoya in another pan.
- Roast the khoya by strring continuosly until the color changes.
- Once the khoya is roaster then keep it aside.
- Now Halwa has no extre moisture now, so we can add the other ingredients.
- Add roasted khoya and chopped dry fruits.
- Mix it thoroughly so the koya is mixed well in the Halwa.
- Next, add approximately 2 tablespoons of ghee and thoroughly blend it in.
- Lastly, sprinkle some cardamom powder over the mixture and give it one last stir before turning off the heat.
- Lauki ka halwa or Dudhi ka halwa is ready to be served!!
